Thank you everyone for your donations so far. My mom passed away in May of 2009. Her breast cancer spread to her brain and after a series of illness including pneumonia, she couldn't take it anymore. Her kidneys failed and within a few days of that she passed. The money that is now being donated to this site and the hair being donated will go to the Susan G Koman Foundation and Locks of Love. They money donated to the Susan G Koman Foundation will be used for research of breast cancer to help cure the disease. And the hair donated to locks of love will be used to make some a wig...including little kids. So please continue to donate. When the fund has reached its goal it will be closed out and then donated. Thank you all again for your donations so far.
My mom has had a series of cancers come up over the past couple of years, and with each one it has brought a series of concern and passion for life. About three to four years ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. The first woman in my family to ever have it, she tackled it head first. She came through it greatly. About the time they were going to be considering reconstructive surgery she started having pains in her kidney. Knowing the she has had a kidney stone before she went to the doctor to have it check out before it become to bad and ended up finding out she had a form of cancer in the kidney that was rare to find in women. Luckly it was in a place where it was treatable and she did a round of radiation for that. Recently they have had to do several test because she's been having pains in her stomach. They though it was from the radiation, but after having a few test done, they now have come to the conclusion that it is cancer in the pancreas and the surrounding lymphnodes. They decided they were going to do different rounds of chemo until thay found the one that worked to best. They found one that worked way better than what they had expected and within a few months it knocked out more than 80 percent of the cancer. She still has it remaining in the lymphnodes. This is ultimately what she will die from, she only has about 5 years at max to live. Mom is strong willed though so we are hoping for longer. Right now she only has one wig and we would like to set up a fund so that we can get enough money to get her another one. What I'm asking from everyone is please pray for her and please help us by donating. Every little bit helps. My mom is a very strong woman and to look at her you would never know that she had cancer. Everyone loves her to death and all I'm asking from you is to please help. Thank you!!!

Encouraging Words
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God can give you strength when you think there is none to be found. I'm donating my hair in memory of my Dad who passed away at 88 with Alzhimers. He lived a wonderful life and was a great inspiration to me and others. He had the most beautiful white hair and was very proud of it. God bless you and your family. Beverly P - Aug 24, 2010
