Recipient Profile

Shina's Senior Photo Shina is seventeen years old, nearly eighteen, and has acute myelogenous leukemia. This is her third bout with it. Between the chemo and the recent brain surgery, she has lost her hair. (Hence the wish for a wig.) Shina is funny, smart, and has a quick temper. She loves animals and her friends. She has a thing about pandas and hates being called Pikachu. Shina can't stand bugs, but wishes she wasn't allergic to cats. She laughs a lot, and makes others laugh too. She loves playing piano, and quite frankly, will play any other musical instrument she can obtain, including, but not limited to: her voice, a hand piano, the harmonica, and the clarinet. Shina loves cooking and reading, both to excess. She wants to be a translator and a foster mother when she grows up.
