I was burned in 2008 on 35% of my body. My torso up to the top of my head was burned and my hair only grew back in clumps. I was very fortunate to survive. I also had severe burns to my face losing most of my nose, all of my lips, chin and ears as well as damaging my vocal chords so I speak in a whisper now. I have had many many reconstructive surgeries and have come to accept the way I look but I do miss having hair. For the last 7 years I have purchased my own wigs online but I am unable to financially afford to do so anymore because of my disability status and an increase in my cost of living. I do spend my time trying to give back to the community by participating in peer support programs and Burn survivor organizations but I am unable to work at this time. Any amount is appreciated and will help make get me closer to my goal. Thank you for reading my story and may you be well.
